It’s Revenge Against YOU: The 2012 Election in One Graphic

Lee Kwan Yew, longtime leader of Singapore, once said this:

In multiracial societies, you don’t vote in accordance with your economic interests or social interests, you vote in accordance with race and religion.”

And so it goes:

2012electionbyrace

Racial divide in the 2012 U.S. Presidential election, from exit polls as presented by CNN.

Nonwhites: 30% of voters — 5-to-1 for Obama
Whites: 70% of voters — 3-to-2 for Romney

(Various technical notes and discussion: Race was definitely the most salient division of the electorate. Breakdowns by age, education, and economic position were much more even, overall; young, old, rich, poor, college-educated, blue-collar, white-collar… every type of White favored Romney; every type of Nonwhite favored Obama. / I classify Jewish voters, 2% of the electorate [70% for Obama this time, 80% in ’08] as ‘Nonwhites’ to derive the above. As Dr. Kevin MacDonald points out, they are “a critical component of the new hostile elite”. We can debate to what extent Jews are ‘White’, but in terms of voting-behavior there is just no question: they are Nonwhite. They famously “live like Episcopalians and vote like Puerto Ricans”. / Subtracting Jews’ strong margin for Obama [despite Obama’s hostility to Israel] we find non-Jewish Whites supporting Romney by over 3-to-2, a decisive win for Romney. / Among only White-Protestants, Romney wins ~70%, says the same exit poll. [See here for breakdowns by race and religion in ’00, ’04, ’08, ’12] / Remove gays (35-to-10 for Obama) from any of these metrics, and you can bump the Romney margin up a few points. / In summary, as Steve Sailer noted, the closer one is to the “core of America”, the more likely one was to vote Romney).

Defacto White Disenfranchisement
Romney got as much of the White vote as Reagan, whose victories in the 1980s were considered landslides. Overwhelming (5-to-1) support for Obama among Nonwhites, who now constitute 30% of the voting-public, put Obama over the top. That’s the story of this election.

Even the big Republican talking-heads are saying it openly: “It’s not a traditional America anymore,” says Bill O’Reilly. “The White Establishment is now the minority…”

.
The Obama Fringe and the Romney Core
A VDARE author calls it “Obama’s Anti-White Coalition” (which is a blunter way of saying what Steve Sailer said: “Obama’s is an absurd coalition. It can be motivated only by exacerbating the bitterness of its members toward people fortunate enough to be closer to the heart of America”). Let’s be honest: it is precisely an ‘anti-White’ coalition. To many Nonwhite Americans, 2012 was simply a referendum on whether they wanted a White president or one who looks and thinks like this:

Nonwhites obviously prefer, and in fact are aggressively in-favor of, a Nonwhite president over (what is seen as) a quintessential WASP, regardless of any and all other factors. See the quotation by Lee Kwan Yew above. And speaking of which, why would Asians (the per-capita wealthiest group in the USA), vote so overwhelmingly, nearly 3-to-1, for the Democrat, rather than for the ‘pro-rich’ Republican? That just makes no sense. The richest group voted strongly for the “tax the rich” party! If you are unaware of the racial angle, that is, it makes no sense. It is perfectly clear with the race angle.

(Why are Nonwhites so ‘racialized’? Much is basic tribalism, but there is something else, too. This is tangential, but suffice it to say that much of the social-apparatus in today’s USA, especially the institutions which socialize children [schools], and entertainment [Hollywood], inculcates in Nonwhites “a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity” against Whites, to use the words of the postracial president. See “Beware of the White Crime Wave” for more of a treatment on this subject).

Shock and Disillusionment
This election was a traumatic shock to many, many Whites, who feel that their country has slipped away. Variations on “I don’t feel like this is my country anymore” can be seen by the million in every corner of the Internet, around millions of kitchen tables, at the proverbial water-cooler, and in the recesses of perhaps a hundred million minds.

It is good to get such a wake-up-call. Gregory Hood writes to those shell-shocked:

Take a good, hard look at those Obama victory rallies. They are celebrating your dispossession, your displacement from the country your ancestors built. They don’t even disguise their hatred. And even though you don’t think in terms of race, they do.

Michael Moore called it a victory over hate. Howard Fineman gloated that America was turning it’s back on tradition, and thank God. Twitter erupted with black voters screeching in triumph, bragging that America belongs to them now.

Even the President of the United States said “voting is the best revenge.” Revenge for what? Aren’t we all in this together? Doesn’t this country belong to all of us?

Do you get it yet? It’s revenge against you — for existing. It’s revenge for “racism,” for conservatism, for success, for being strong, and proud and accomplished. It’s vengeance against the America that once was. They have their revenge for the fact that your country existed. Barack Obama is President of these states united, and was re-elected because, not in spite of the fact that he despises everything America was.

From “Memo to White Male Republicans” by Gregory Hood

Today, it so happens, is November 11th — Armistice Day, the day World War One ended in 1918. Many of the men who were under arms for the USA that day, if teleported to the present, would refuse to serve. They would not recognize this is as their country, and would probably — on the whole — be hostile to it.

  1. One of Mitt's Many Cousins says:

The men who fought in the US military in WW I included many immigrants from Italy, Ireland, Germany, and other countries who were treated like fifth-class citizens a century ago. What would impress them today is that their descendants are fully accepted and part of American life and culture.
The US is a nation of immigrants from all over the world and will continue to evolve–hopefully in the direction of greater fairness, justice, and acceptance.

    • Juliuspie says:

Yes but those immigrants did have one thing in common, which made a big difference. Mass immigration today is made up of people loyal to their race and who are not interested in assimilating or in the ideals that helped America succeed. See you on the bread line.

      • One of Mitt's Many Cousins says:

What is the basis for your opinion about today’s immigrants? Have you personally gotten to know them? Are there some in your church? In your children’s schools? Do you have reason to lump everyone who doesn’t look like you as “Other” and then resent them.
Today George Will, Lindsey Graham, and even Sean Hannity want to work out immigration reform because without it the GOP is dead.

        • fnn says:

F*** both the GOP and the neo-Bolshevik American Empire. F*** imposing feminism, “gay rights;” affirmative action and Walmart on all the peoples of the earth. But, luckily for those who refuse to worship hedonism/mass consumerism, the debt crisis will soon bring the American Imperium to an end.

        • LAman says:

          Late reply, I know…

I have, in fact, “personally gotten to know [today’s immigrants]”. I live in Los Angeles and, specifically, in a neighborhood that has more immigrants than non-immigrants among its adults. I make a point of speaking to them since I want to know who I live around, and I make a point of not acting judgmental towards them – unless they were to blatantly insult me, which has only happened a few times – so that I can understand what they think and where they’re coming from mentally. Seriously. Before I lived here, I wanted to know what these people thought and what their lives were actually like, so I’d be able to truly know whether or not I was the benificiary of that greatest of all modern evils, “white privilege”.

Well, having come and found out those things, I’m now more inclined to think I’m the victim of “white disadvantage” than “white privilege”. I am completely serious when I write that. But, I digress…

The state of mind that the immigrants and (most, but not all) children of immigrants I know are coming from is a very, very tribalistic state of mind. [You wanted empirical evidence, Mitt’s Cousin? Here it is, bud.]

It’s not unusual for me to hear (nonwhite) people (from my neighborhood) who I know socially describe ANY group of people that is all white as “racist”. That’s right, any association of white people separate from non-white peoples, no matter how voluntary the arrangement might be for both groups, inherently carries with it the air of “racism”. I’m not certain how people feel about groups that are mostly, but not entirely, white, but I suspect they feel similarly.

Also, any time any initiative comes up in the city, county, or state that deals with 1) affirmative action, 2) immigration, or 3) social service funding, it _immediately_ becomes a matter of race. Everyone who thinks about politics here thinks about it in terms of race and sex. Period. Assuming you’re a paleface like myself, you’d probably blush if you knew how often I hear the phrases “good for my people” or “bad for my people” come up in informal policy discussions.

And, just so it’s clear that I’m not imagining some anti-white boogeyman, but am actually describing a comprehensive tribal mindset, I’ll let you know that almost all of the adults where I am (immigrant or otherwise) are Hispanic, that the large majority of them (>60%, I’d guess) look down upon “the blacks” for being trashy good-for-nothings, and that a large portion (30%-40%?) of them despise Asians because of their single-minded focus on getting money and general rudeness. They’d rather just not deal with blacks but they actively dislike the Asians.

Also, English literacy here is approaching “abysmal”. I can name 3 people off the top of my head right now in this neighborhood who I see socially who have been in America for more than 15 years (legally, mind you) and can’t speak more than 10 words of English. The children of immigrants here, if their parents made a point of speaking English at home, generally speak it well enough, although with a limited vocabulary. If their parents didn’t speak English at home, though, they usually finish school speaking Spanish much better than English. I’d say about half of the children of immigrants around here fall into the latter group. (How many second-generation German and Italian immigrants spoke their parents’ languages better than English?)

Furthermore, it’s almost completely unnecessary to be a legal citizen here anymore. I’ve only known one person who felt comfortable enough around me to admit that he was here illegally. Honestly, though, I never would have known if he hadn’t told me. We works under the table, gets healthcare with a fake social security number, and even went to a public high school and college. The only differences between his life and mine are that he can’t get a drivers license (so he takes the bus everywhere or gets rides with friends) and I pay taxes.

So, there you go, Mitt’s Cousin. Nearly every time some brave soul looks at recent voting results and says that tribalism might be playing a role in non-white voting patterns or, Heaven help us, even goes so far as to suggest that immigrants are not integrating well into existing American society, some flying buttmonkey like you has to show up out of nowhere and demand to see a sworn affidavit from every non-white person or every immigrant in America before you’ll believe anything might be amiss. Well, I didn’t get the sworn affidavits but I do have almost two years personal experience talking to the very people in question.

        • Bobby says:

LA Man, I also live right outside of L.A. in L.A. county and grew up in a suburb that is now almost 95 percent hispanic. Everything you said about the so-called minority mentality is 100 percent dead on right. These people think in racial terms, and thus have a huge advantage over European-Americans,(the people that built this modern nation to the heights of excellence), since European-Americans have fallen into all of the lefts excellent brainwashing concerning, “white priviledge”,”white racism”, and on and on. All of these things white leftists and minorities attribute to “whites”, are of course exponentially true with “minorities” and the left. Wake the F up European-Americans who even give a rats ass.

    • M.G. says:

South and East European immigrants were seen as second-class citizens because they were second-class citizens. And I say that as someone descended from them. John Commons, 1907:

‘It is the distinctive fact regarding colonial migration that it was Teutonic in blood and Protestant in religion. The English, Dutch, Swedes, Germans, and even the Scotch-Irish, who constituted practically the entire migration, were less than two thousand years ago one Germanic race in the forests surrounding the North Sea. The Protestant Reformation, sixteen centuries later, began among those peoples and found in them its sturdiest supporters. The doctrines of the Reformation, adapted as they were to the strong individualism of the Germanic races, prepared the hearts of men for the doctrines of political liberty and constitutional government of the succeeding century.’

Mediterraneans and Slavs, as well as Irish, were of different stock and valued different things:

‘Nevertheless, the peasantry of Europe today [1907] is in large part the product of serfdom and of that race-subjection which produced serfdom. … The [South/Eastern] European peasant, says Professor Shaler, “knows himself to be by birthright a member of an inferior class, from which there is practically no chance of escaping. . . . It is characteristic of peasants that they have accepted this inferior lot. …. They have no large sense of citizenly motives; they feel no sense of responsibility for any part of the public life save that which lies within their own narrow round of action.”‘

These were the peoples that brought us Tammany Hall and the Cosa Nostra. Their presence contributed to immense ethnic tensions and violence, labor unrest, political corruption, and social fracture. One major reason they assimilated at all, instead of becoming disparate racial colonies, is that in 1921 exasperated Americans turned off the tap.

And for those who think today’s immigrants are leading us to bastardize our institutions, remember how long ago the process started:

‘When once thus [democracy] established in England and further developed in America we find that other races and peoples, accustomed to despotism and even savagery, and wholly unused to self-government, have been thrust into the delicate fabric. Like a practical people as we pride ourselves, we have begun actually to despotize our institutions in order to control these dissident elements, though still optimistically holding that we retain the original democracy.’ (J.R. Commons, ‘Races and Immigrants in America,’ 1907)

To pooh-pooh the immense problems caused by 19th century immigration is to betray the kind of facile ignorance that is currently leading the Republic over a cliff. Here’s a clue about ‘fairness, justice, and acceptance’–NW Euros have them in greater measure than any other people on Earth. When the latter disappear from the U.S., so will the former.

    • Anonymous says:

The USA is, along with the other immigrationist Anglo-Saxon countries, the only country in the world who actually believes it can maintain its territorial integrity and moral unity by becoming the homeland for people from the entire world AND encouraging them not to assimilate. The reality is never before in history such a an experiment in social engineering has been undertaken. But it is clear and logical that by importing the whole world, the USA also import all its differences, antagonisms, rivalries, conflicts and resentments between groups. No country will withstand such centrifugal forces in its midst of its society in the medium- to long-term, not even the USA. Now the minorities are still united in reducing the white position but once the country is sufficiently diversified to only consist of minorities, bellum omnium contra omnes will surface and break-up along ethnic or religious lines becomes inevitable. It has happened in Europe and elsewhere countless times, the history books are full with it, what makes the USA so confident that she alone can withstand the trend?

    Dick Morris writes:

    The Campaign Made No Difference

Demographic voting is the new norm in America. You vote based on who you are, not where you live or how well each campaign has articulated its case. 93% of blacks, 70% of Latinos, 60% of those under 30, and 62% of single people, voted for Obama. And white married couples over 30 years of age voted for Romney. Not much else matters. A president who was elected and re-elected through identity politics has brought about a state of affairs where demographic voting determines the outcome. Our votes are predictable based on our race, ethnicity, age, and marital status well before anybody does any campaigning.

It is bad enough that America is now divided into red and blue states. It is divided into red and blue people as well based, not on their opinions, but on their demographics.

    • One of Mitt's Many Cousins says:

Dick Morris is no longer a credible source of insights on anything. He was a cheerleader for “inside the bubble,” swearing that my cousin would win by a landslide.

  4. Hail says:

The men who fought in the US military in WW I included many immigrants from Italy, Ireland, Germany, and other countries who were treated like fifth-class citizens a century ago

This is specious and dishonest for several reasons. Most significantly, though, it is a strawman: Clearly implied in my words was that the men were ‘Americans’ (“their country“), i.e. natives and not immigrants, one way or another.

The point is: The typical American man of the 1910s, if he could see the America of the 2010s, would be horrified by it, and would probably be radically opposed to (this 2010s) USA itself.

  5. Hail says:

What would impress them today is that their descendants are fully accepted and part of American life and culture.

It’s interesting, or ironic I suppose: That very acceptance (as a “part of [White] American life and culture”) is actually harmful to those “Italians, Irish, [and] Germans” (or whomever), as of this late date. [And I don’t think anyone ever had a problem with German-Protestants at all]. One would think it good to be “accepted”, but in many ways, the “non-accepted” have it better in America these days. (The Obama Coalition is mostly comprised of the “non-accepted” near-majority). These days, many White-Americans know it and act accordingly, “setting themselves apart with some boutique minority identity“. We all know examples of this, from old-fashioned hyphenated-Americanism to — notably — the recent affair in which it was revealed that left-wing White politician Elizabeth Warren had pretended to be an American-Indian to reap diversity benefits at Harvard.

Why do Whites do this? Because to be considered a plain-old White-American means to be relegated to a kind of cultural-political ghetto, that haplessly-uncool, perennially-guilty, colorless moral-inferior White Archetype that Hollywood and so on have created. By NOT being officially “accepted as a part of [White] America”, one gets two sorts of benefits: the ‘soft’ benefits (being allowed to take pride in oneself, explicit ethnic solidarity, the “coolness” factor, and even feelings of moral superiority) and those wonderful ‘hard’ benefits that have been with Obama his entire adult life (affirmative-action and preferential treatment because he is lucky enough to be Nonwhite).

  6. Ward Kendall says:

One major reason to oppose today’s immigrants (most of them being mestizos) is this: they are less intelligent than whites. As their numbers increase, America’s NIQA (National IQ Average) scores will plummet. Thus, those politicians promoting amnesty for America’s burgeoning mestizo populations are, in fact, threatening this nation’s ability to scientifically and economically compete against the rising power of China. This is an unconscionable crime against the founding race of Euro-ethnic people and to all future generations. It is more than that, however: it is treason.

And as we all know, traitors are usually put to death.

  8. Excellent post, hail. But the writing was on the wall. I mean, it was predictable even before the first election (http://armedwithknowledge.blogspot.de/2007/10/theres-no-o-in-secured-future.html#more)

Note the figure from the voting turnout – 72%. That probably includes a lot of questionably non-core individuals. It’s dropping faster than anyone ever predicted.

The only question left is: what does it all mean, and what is going to happen next?

    • Hail says:

Subtracting Jews [2% vote share] gives us a Christian-origin White vote-share of ~70%. I think that is the “talking point” one can use on this election: Whites voted over 3-to-2 for Romney, a decisive win, on par with Reagan’s “landslides” (same White vote share), but Whites were only 70% of voters this time, and Nonwhites voted a staggering 5-to-1 for Obama.

There is also the homosexual factor: Surprisingly, the exit poll (as reported by CNN) also found 5% of the voting public considered themselves some non-heterosexual orientation. (Gay, lesbian, bisexual, or “other”), and they voted 35-to-10 for Obama, of course.

  9. Hail says:

    Lawrence Auster reports:

Why Romney lost Ohio, and the country

Byron York looks at Ohio. Obama won the state by 107,000 votes. Black turnout was 200,000 votes more than in 2008, and white turnout was 200,000 less than in 2008. Obama won because he increased turnout in his base over the previous election (just as Bush increased turnout in his base in 2004), and suppressed turnout among undecided or weak Republicans by running ads that relentlessly portrayed Romney as an out of touch plutocrat and killer of old people, charges that Romney, proving that he was out of touch, never bothered counteracting.

Exit polls in Ohio found Blacks voted for Obama by a truly dizzying 32-to-1!

Romney easily won the White vote in Ohio, nearly 3-to-2, as with the rest of the country except New England [map of states by White vote only].

Yes, it was the postracial aggressive-Nonwhite Obama Coalition engaging in Anti-White bloc-voting that decided the election.
